Christmas 2010
Scout had a wonderful first Christmas! We spent the weekend of the 18th in Tennessee. It was a short visit, but we got to visit my Uncle in the hospital and open gifts with my family. It was quick, but I am very thankful we were able to spend the weekend and celebrate Christmas. My Mom had made us lots of good food (as always) and we got to open gifts with everyone. Scout got a "Scout" educational dog from my parents which I love because it has her name on the collar. She also got some cute outfits, and little baby toys from my sisters. Uncle Dale, Aunt Tracy, Andrew, Eli, and McKayla, got her a "Twinkle Little Scout" that is very cool! It will play music and nature sounds for 20 minutes! It also says her name. Granny and Papaw got her a talking Elmo, and Grandma and Grandaddy got her some clothes. She got a cute little bib with her full name on it from cousin Kari and a cute little bear from Aunt Sherry. We didn't get to spend a lot of time with my Aunt Sherry's family because my Uncle Danny suffered a bad heart attack the day before and is still in ICU at St. Thomas hospital. He also has several other issues going on so please continue to pray for him and his family. They have had an up and down, exhausting couple of weeks. My Uncle is still hanging in there but if he pulls through it will be a very long recovery process. So please keep him in your prayers!!!
When we got back to Texas I had a pretty busy work schedule until Wednesday and then we were busy wrapping up shopping and getting the house ready for company on Christmas Day. We spent Christmas Eve at Mandi's opening up gifts with Daddy Mike, Granny Jan, Jan's brother Rick, Aunt Jen, Uncle Keith, and Cousin Vince. We all got lots of cool gifts. Scout got a big teddy bear, some clothes, books, teethers, a Christmas ornament, a little musical farm, and a musical walker thing...just to name a few. Kamden got lots of lego stuff and hex/bugs. We had a lot of fun! Scout had not slept ALL DAY LONG...so she was out cold by 7...she has had fun at home with all the new musical toys she got though. On Christmas morning Me, Kris, and the kids opened our gifts to each other and from Santa. Scout's big gift was a rocking horse that makes horse sounds and she got some little cowgirl boots. Kamden got more lego stuff, hex/bugs, and books. Kris got a new watch and a kindle. Kris got me my very first guitar! It is beautiful! I am hoping that by this time next year I am quite good! :) We also inherited his Grandparents piano a little early so I also have to learn how to play that well. Those are my two major goals for next year...along with getting in shape, buying a house, finishing scrapbooks, getting back on track with my CEU's for work...my board certification runs out in two years so I need to get busy or else I have to take the test again...and it is a really hard test! SO...I am going to be a busy girl! Grammy Jonne, Aunt Mandi, Aunt Kelly, Uncle Josh, and Lana came to our house on Christmas morning...we all cooked a delicious lunch of and then opened an embarrassing amount of gifts! We all got lots of good gifts! :) We were definitely spoiled! One of Kris's favorite gifts was the kinect for the XBOX....we are both very sore from it as I type this...it is a lot of fun though!!! Kris and I are both very competitive so it should provide a fun activity for the Winter....and it is a pretty good work out! Anyway...we had a wonderful Christmas and I feel very blessed!!! I will leave you with the large amount of photos I took and a little note that Scout's teacher put in her stocking at school...it made me laugh! Enjoy! :)
