Cailyn Scout is 4 months old...

Where has the time gone???? Seriously...I can not believe four months have already passed since we welcomed our sweet baby girl into the world! I love watching her grow, each new thing she does, and the thought of all of her "firsts"...but I would be lying if I said a little piece of me is not a little sad when I put another one of her outfits in storage that she  has out grown. It just goes by way too fast! I love every minute I spend with her and I look forward to all the special things in her future. She is still doing great at the Kidd Academy. The other day when I dropped her off was the first time she actually looked back at me and stuck out her lip and started to cry. It broke my heart. Of course she only cried for a few minutes...but still. She is really starting to notice things and she loves to look at herself in the mirror. Bath time is really fun because she has a ball splashing and wiggling in the water. She has also started to hold on to her toys and things a lot better. She is still working on hand control...sometimes she  tries to bring  her toys up to her mouth and she ends up whacking herself in the head...but she is definitely making progress. She is a WIGGLE WORM and changing her is getting more and more challenging. She is a busy little thing. She LOVES being talked to and she tries to talk back. Knox has become a "person" of interest to her lately and she giggles when he licks her feet. It is so cute! We are having so much fun with her and she is such a good baby. She goes to bed around 7:30 or 8:00 now and she sleeps until somewhere between 5-7 am. (typically) So we feel pretty blessed. Getting her to nap for very long during the day is not always easy...but she is a great sleeper at night.
We are leaving for Tennessee next  week and I am very excited! I haven't been there in over 2 months and I can't wait to see my family and celebrate Thanksgiving. Scout will get to meet  a lot of her cousins that she hasn't met yet. 28 great-grandkids (if my counting is correct) so there are lots of kids! We are hoping to leave Monday night so Scout will sleep on the way. It still seems crazy that it is already Thanksgiving. The next several weekends are booked for us already....I love this time of year...but man is it ever busy! Scout and I had a little photo shoot yesterday and today...hope you all enjoy the pictures. (I never take her picture...poor thing!) I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Holiday and safe travels!

Scout LOVES her bath!!!

Scout is doing great and growing and changing every day it seems! She is such a sweet baby! She has recently found her voice and likes to talk and "sing" all the time. It is really funny. She is particularly verbal in the mornings. The funniest thing is the facial expressions she makes while she is talking to us. Cracks us up! She is on the verge of rolling over and she has excellent head control now. I just love every minute I spend with her! Kris and I love to put her in between us in bed  in the mornings and talk to her. That is definitely one of my favorite activities. For the last three weeks or so,  she has become very predictable at night. Shortly after she has her bath... she wants to be put in her bed, music on...lights off. Within 10 minutes of putting her down she is out cold. Sometimes I work late and just want to hold her at night...but lately she isn't having it. Once she has her bath...she wants her bed...end of story. :)  She is such an opinionated little thing!
This past Friday night and Saturday morning Scout got to spend some time with some of her grandparents (Daddy Mike and Granny Jan) and then on Saturday night we went to a baby shower for our friends Shane and Kim who are welcoming a baby boy to the world in January. Sunday, Scout and I went to church at Watermark with Aunt Mandi, Uncle Josh, Lana, Emily, Brandon, and Melissa. Afterwards Mandi, Scout, and I went to lunch at Another Broken Egg. The rest of the day we just relaxed at home. This weekend we will be going to Shreveport to attend a funeral for Lewis's father. I only had the pleasure of meeting Lewis Sr. a few times, but he was a very sweet man and I know he will be greatly missed by his family. At least he is at peace and not in pain anymore.  Death is a funny thing you know. It is one of the saddest, yet precious parts of life. Please keep the McCulloch family in your prayers.
Thats about all for now. I have been very busy lately with work and taking care of an almost 4 month old, but life is good and we are very blessed. I will leave you with more pictures. Have a good night all!
