Closing out Last Year

Hello June 2014~ !

So about that Christmas post I never got around to...

What can I say, life is busy. I have all these ideas and clever things floating around my head in hopes of some day getting them organized but the craziness of our life when it comes to juggling busy jobs and spending times with our kids, trying to work out as much as possible, keeping laundry at least partially done,....well it doesn't leave much time left over for hobbies like blogging. I have high hopes that one day I will do a better job. One day. But for now there is always the random rainy Sunday afternoon in June when the kids are all sleeping and I can finally update on how our Christmas and New Year was :)

Backing up a bit...we went to Tennessee for Thanksgiving last year.

As always we had a wonderfully, too short of a trip. A week is just not long enough to see everyone I want to see, do everything I want to do, and it always seems like it goes by way to fast. The kids have so much fun every time we go.

Dad saved us some of the leaves from the tree in their front yard. It turns bright orangey, yellow in the fall. I always get super homesick in the Fall because we don't really get much of a Fall here. It seems like in the five years I have been in Dallas there are two seasons...Summer...and February. So...I was super excited to play in what was left of the pretty leaves. Scout enjoyed it too!

In the above picture my Dad had just told Scout to slow down! Look at her face! I love it!

My girls waiting for the cousins to come over...

Sunday morning after church....

One day we got to take Kamden and Scout to the Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville. We all loved it! The first song song learned all the words to was "Ring of Fire" and Kamden learned to play it on the guitar when he first started playing guitar several years ago. We are big fans of the Man in Black. Who isn't?

On Thanksgiving Day we went to my Grandparents house on the Willis side. There are so many kids on that side of my family. I want to say that Colton and Abby were number 28 and 29 great-grandkids...and since then there have been two more great-grandkids born and one great-great grandchild. So needless to say there are a lot of us. Every major Holiday we try to get everyone together. There are usually a few that don't make it but we still mamnage to have a house full of kids no matter what. Thankfully this past Thanksgiving we were able to go outside and play. Dad rounded up the horses like he always does. Colton and Abby got to get their picture taken sitting on top of Apatche who is nothing less than a legend in the Willis family. Everyone loves Apatche! He just turned 37 this year!

This basketball goal has been used for many a games of horse, cow, gotcha, one on one....you name it. The scene of decades of family competitions.

Colton with my cousin Chris. He used to carry me around like this when I was a little baby.
Maleah...one of the brand new great-grandbabies

 She loves horses...

Spending time at Aunt Tracy's. Scout loves McKayla! :)
 Kamden, Colton, Andrew

We celebrated Thanksgiving and the twins 1st Birthday at the Lodge with my Mom's side of the family.
Sweet Memories were made...

Love this. I wonder what Cameron and Aden were scheming.

 Look at that face!
 Jo-Jo

This was her "..but I don't want to go inside" face.

The twins had their very first taste of chocolate cupcakes. I was throwing them a party at our house in Texas with an owl theme. So I decided to keep with the theme and make these  cupcakes that I found on Pinterest. I think they turned out super cute!

Our last night in TN. I love this picture. TEAMWORK!

We got to stop in Memphis for a while on our way home and visit Kevin, Becky, and Kellen. The kids got to play for a while. It's always so good to see them!!

Abby is telling Kellen  ..."I will see you soon my love"  HaHa! That's what it looks like anyway.

A couple weeks after we got back the twins officially turned ONE! And now.....it's July! Ha! Better late then never I always say. I took the last picture on the day of their birthday. They both had colds and Abby had fell in the driveway a couple days before and had a nice little scab on her nose. I still can't get over how fast our lives go now. They are 18 months old!!! I cant believe it. I am determined to get caught up on the blog . I know keep saying that but I really am. Until next time....

They have grown so much since this was taken
