20 weeks...

Well here is the latest belly pic! It's much easier when Kris is here to take it :) Things have been really busy lately and I am hoping and praying they will eventually slow down enough so that I can actually enjoy this experience. After 4, 4-5 hour long meetings this week, on top of regular work...I am beat! I am trying really hard to not get too stressed...but that's life right? Always throwing you surprises along the way. I can't believe I am already half way through the pregnancy!!! Gosh time flies!!! Other than lack of sleep, I am feeling pretty good. We go to the gym as often as we can and that helps tremendously! I always feel better when I can get a good work out in here and there. On Saturday after our work out Kris thought it would be a good idea to get massages...it was a great idea! I needed it. I go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks and will hopefully have some more ultra sound pictures to show. I am starting to feel some little movements here and there! :) Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

These outfits are from Aunt Mandi. Scout will definitely be ready for football season!. It's a good thing Texas and Tennessee don't play each other! Thanks Aunt Mandi!

"I think there's just one kind of folks.Folks." ~ Scout Finch

Well here she is....

It's a girl!!! Our doctor is about 99% sure it's a girl anyway. She said she would be embarrassed if she was wrong. Yesterday was so amazing! We got to see her stretch and open and shut her mouth. God is good! The miracle of life is so unbelievably wonderful! I am so excited to meet her. Like Kris said below...it's wonderful and scary all at the same time. And yes...she had her legs pulled completely over her head!!! I got a good laugh out of that!!
It looks like Scout will for sure be her middle name. We haven't narrowed the first name down just yet. We may have to pick two first names and wait until we see her face to decide. The reason we I like Scout for a girl is because it is the name of the little girl in my favorite book, To Kill A Mockingbird. I read it in High School along with everyone else I'm sure...and it is by far one of the best books ever in my opinion. It's just one that sticks with you for your whole life. Anyway, when we left for our honeymoon to Jamaica that was one of the books I packed to read while we were there. I had not read it since the 10th grade and I thought it would be cool to re-read it. Kris and I were laying on the beach the first day of our honeymoon and I looked up over my book and said "If we ever have a girl...what do you think about the name Scout?"...and he replied..."I like it..a lot!" Well, at the time we were considering trying for kids in a year or so. Ha! That was 5 months ago! So...thats were Scout comes from. It kind of has special meaning to us. I go back to the doctor in three weeks for another ultrasound and a full anatomy scan. So far everything is going well and we feel very blessed! My job is still in the "unknown" phase and I really don't know whats going to happen at this point. We have had lots of long meetings over the past couple weeks and I am ready for a decision to be made so I can focus on other things :) I am also mentally and emotionally exhausted from it all so I am just ready for some answers. Please keep us in your prayers! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

It's a Girl!

So yesterday afternoon, Jill and I went to the doctor and found out that we are having a little girl.  I have no idea how people read sonograms, but it was interesting to see how the baby had grown and watch it's heart beat and it's body move.  Her femur measure's 2.5 cm right now which means she is growing right on schedule. Mom and baby are both healthy and doing well.  Jill has only gained 2 lbs. in the last month so she was pretty happy about that.  We go back in three weeks to do a full anatomy scan of Scout and make sure that her organs are developing correctly and that her hands and feet are forming.  Hopefully we will have some pics from the sonogram up by this weekend so you can all see her.  I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.  Most of you know that the thought of having a daughter has scared me, but I know she is going to be a wonderful blessing and I can't wait for her to get here.  I will tell you this....Jill thought it was hilarious.....When we did the sonogram scout had her legs thrown back to her shoulders : ).  Take what you will from that.  Hope everyone is doing well, and we will have another update for you ASAP.  Love you all!

Tomorrow!

So tomorrow Jill and I will hopefully find out what we are having.  Ever since we found out we were expecting, I've had a feeling that we were going to have a little girl.  The last couple of weeks, I've started to waiver though and now I'm at 50/50 either way.  No matter what we find out on Thursday, we are both just praying for a healthy baby.  Jill has started to feel movements (she swears its not gas) and that just makes us more excited to know who is actually in there.  Colton or Scout?  If the little one is not too shy we'll have our answer tomorrow!

One more week...

....and we find out what we are having!!!! Well...hopefully that is. We are hoping the baby isn't too modest and will let us sneak a peek between his/her legs. We are very excited!!! Sorry I haven't posted any belly pictures or news lately. Honestly, I haven't really started to show much until the last couple of weeks. I am going to try to take a picture tonight and post it. It seems like my stomach always looks and feels bigger at night.
As far as news goes, I found out a couple of weeks ago that my boss is retiring at the end of April and closing his neurology practice due to medical issues. This was out of the blue and shocked everyone. So right now we are kind of in between possibilities. Hopefully our team will be able to stay together and keep the same contracts with the same surgeons. We have a really good thing going right now...and we are all hoping and praying it stays that way. It's scary because the company I have been working for since I moved to Dallas a year and half ago has been wonderful! My boss is wonderful and his staff is wonderful. So I am a little skeptical of change at this point. When you are in a good situation you don't want to let it go. Also, since I am pregnant...the unknown of where and with whom I will be working with in three months makes me nervous. So please pray it works out for the best for everyone.
On a much more pleasant note...Aden is here!!!!! My sister and brother-in-law welcomed their little one into the world on January 27, 2010. Aden James Weber  weighed 9lbs, 5 ounces...and 20 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great! This past weekend Kris and I flew to TN for a short trip so that we could meet him. Let me just say...baby fever has hit me hard! He is so precious! I could just hold and snuggle him for hours. He has a lot of  blonde hair and he is a really good baby so far. He already sleeps 4-5 hours at a time at night. He looks a lot like Cameron ( my other sisters 2 year old) when he was a newborn. I guess that makes sense, since my sisters are twins. Anyway, his nursery is blue, white, and brown, and his bedding has little sail boats on it....so cute!  I can't wait to see him again. I don't know when that will be...but I can't wait nonetheless.
I spent almost half an hour in the baby clothes section of Macy's last week. I love baby clothes!!! Kris has always said I am not a typical girl. In most ways I'm not, but when it comes to babies and baby things...I can be very girlie. I love the thought of decorating a nursery and dressing up a baby. I know there is much more to do than that and it isn't all as glamorous as it sounds...but that will be part of the fun stuff I look forward to. I am going to try and post some pictures of a few of the things I like below. Once we find out what we are having I am going to have a lot of fun buying things for the baby! We are still thinking of names. On the table for a boy is now Colton Kristopher. Other possibles are Samuel Colton, Colton Quinn, and Colton Willis. I am leaving the boys middle name up to Kris since I picked Colton. For a girl we are still thinking of using Scout as the middle name. People either love it or hate it!  :) We are having trouble deciding on a first name though. We want it to be kind of girlie since Scout is not really a girlie name. Possible first names are Addison Scout, Cailen Scout, and maybe Riley Scout. I guess after next week we are going to have to make a decision huh? Suggestions for a girl are welcomed. I think we are good on the boys name since we both like all the possibilities. Well....long update! I will post belly pics soon....promise!

This is the baby girl bedding I like! We are likely going to go with dark baby furniture instead of the white. So the crib will be expresso.

I like this quilt for a boy. I would probably paint the walls a light blue and try to find some green and white checkered curtains.

I love this painting for a girls room. I would paint the walls a light blue with the dark furniture and pink bedding....how precious is that? Anyway...just daydreaming. Below are some of the pictures I took over the weekend. How precious is he???
